Timothy’s Review (at age 11)

This curriculum is definitely a first. Being one of the only science curricula I ever actually enjoyed, it is a definite winner for anyone even remotely interested in neurology.

What is it?

Exactly what the title suggests! It is a child friendly system that is both useful and fun, something that you rarely see in a science book. In it you will learn the names of lobes, what they do, and what on earth “cerebellum” even means!

How did I use it?

Pretty much just to sound smarter. :) Now instead of saying “Are you okay?”, I can say “Your frontal lobe seems to be malfunctioning.”, and get away with it. In one word? Liberally.

Alethea’s Editorial Note: Evidently, Tim misunderstood what Mum meant when she said, “Tell them how you used it.” :-)
He used it four times a week (or at least so he says). Each lesson took around half an hour, and the curriculum requires access to the internet. According to him, “That’s it really.”

What did I think about it?

GENIUS! The activities really helped, and the use of fingerprints as people conveying what everyone, no doubt, is thinking, is incredible. The only problem is that it’s too short. The colouring can get a bit tedious, though. All you need are some colour pencils and a computer. In the end, it is definitely worth whatever to do. I think it’s enough to say that I went and did it without being reminded.
